Mercia Real Estate (MRE) the Midlands focused real estate investor and asset manager, has agreed the unconditional purchase of a former rolling mill site in Dudley for an undisclosed sum.
MRE has acquired the site after it went into administration earlier this year. The historical property which is over 100 years old, sits on approximately 10 acres with buildings extending to 110,000 square feet and forms part of the former Aartree Bright Bar site.
The acquisition forms part of MRE’s expanding UK-wide development programme of industrial sites and builds on an a successful portfolio of industrial estates across the West Midlands region.
Benefiting from a prominent location off the A4036, Pear Tree Lane, 3 miles from Dudley town centre the site is within easy access to J2 of the M5 motorway which is approximately 5 miles away. Nearby occupiers include Jewson, Travis Perkins, Screwfix, SIG and SSE pipe fittings.
The proposal is to demolish existing buildings, retaining the 28,021 sq ft high bay warehouse and 2,712 sq ft office block. Planning will be submitted shortly.
