Mercia Real Estate is a leading real estate investor and asset manager based in Birmingham, at the heart of the UK.

Specialising in opportunistic and value-add investment opportunities, we focus on acquiring assets which require our specialist expertise to unlock underlying value and maximise capital growth.

Our core geographical market is the Midlands and surrounding regions, with our portfolio diversified across a variety of different sectors and asset classes. Having consistently achieved attractive returns, MRE has established itself as an expert value-add investor within our geography and holds a proven track-record of results.

We come from a variety of backgrounds including development, investment, project management, estate management and construction.

Sam Clark

CEO

Samuel is a multi-disciplined professional with expertise in both commercial and residential property. Samuel is an expert at financial structuring and oversees the acquisition pipeline, portfolio and asset management strategies, develops the business plan and leads new business initiatives to enhance value and sustainability for the company.

Prior to establishing MRE, Samuel was a Director at SevenCapital and Development Director at the Housing Growth Partnership a private equity fund backed by Lloyds Banking Group and Homes England responsible for making equity investments into UK house builders.
Samuel is a Chartered Surveyor.

Steve Mitchell

COO

Steve is our COO responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the group and its funding. Steve has 20 years’ experience in corporate banking working across a number of senior roles including property finance.

Prior to joining MRE he also spent two years working for a mid-market house-builder leading their sales and marketing team and supporting diversification into partnership projects.

Alex Parkes

General Counsel

Alex is our General Counsel and responsible for overseeing all of our projects from a legal perspective as well as managing instructions to external counsel.

Prior to joining MRE, Alex spent over 10 years in private practice, the majority at a top 50 law firm, where he was made one of their youngest partners ever in May 2023. Whilst in private practice, Alex specialised in real estate development projects delivering for clients across a range of sectors.

Amy Reeves

Finance Manager

Amy is an MAAT qualified Accountant and currently in the final stages of her ICAEW exams. Before joining Mercia Real Estate in July 2024, she gained vast experience in the Real estate sector during her 5 years at Nurton Developments. As Finance Manager her main focus is timely management reporting to the board and ensuing robust systems are introduced and maintained.

Marta Langman

Senior Asset Manager

Joining Aquarius, our in-house asset management team, in 2021, Marta brought nearly a decade of experience from her previous role at Bulleys Chartered Surveyors, where Aquarius was one of her valued management clients. Her extensive expertise and insights, especially within the West Midlands property market, are invaluable to our team.

Marta is responsible for estate and asset management across our diverse portfolio, with a specialization in the industrial sector. She focuses on creating value through effective lease management, lease negotiations and portfolio management.

Recently, Marta completed her Master’s Degree in Real Estate Management at Birmingham City University and has progressed to the APC stage of her RICS qualification, demonstrating her dedication to professional growth and achieving chartered status.

Emma Hadley

Accounts Administrator

Emma’s role requires her to support the day to day functions of the estate management department. She co-ordinates all communications with our tenants and suppliers and supports the business operations across portfolio. Emma is the lynchpin of the team with her insight of day to day operations at a granular level.
